VCP veterans self-discover, find camaraderie, explore careers

No matter the branch of military service, all members are in search of meaningful employment. However, depending on the member’s departure from service, albeit medical, retirement or educational, many find out their military resumes don’t always match up to civilian occupation standards.

Since its inception in 2009, the Veterans Curation Program (VCP) has noted success in providing veterans recently departed from service with new career options, while providing employment and vocational training using archaeological collections administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Hosted by New South Associates, several potential employers participated in a Meet and Greet forum at the VCP Alexandria Laboratory recently, with 17 Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and Navy veterans employed as archaeological technicians Jan. 11.
