Easton can now quickly help veterans in need

One veteran was hospitalized for more than a month and returned home to little food in his house. Another veteran didn’t have the money to pay for his inhaler because of a recent change in insurance.

But the town is now in a better place to efficiently and quickly help veterans in need after changes were recently made to the veterans discretionary fund.

Kristin Kennedy, the director of the Department of Heath and Community Services, recently presented the proposed changes to the Board of Selectmen on behalf of Jason Haven, the director of veterans’ services.
