“I was just at a point where I had to accept help,” said veteran Robert Kirby.
Kirby said a bout with alcoholism and complications with PTSD got him into trouble, but there was more: “(I) got in some serious trouble with law enforcement.”
Unfortunately, things for Kirby didn’t get better. “The night that I got in trouble, I was sitting in front of a gun safe with a loaded (gun) in my mouth, at the end of my rope,” Kirby said.
But help stepped in, thanks to Veterans Counts, a program for veterans in need.
