Veterans find new support at Virginia Tech

Whether they are faculty members, staff members or students, veterans at Virginia Tech will find more support at the university this year.

Tech recently announced the establishment of the Virginia Tech Veterans Caucus for employees and also opened a room in Squires Student Center for use by [email protected], a student group.

The efforts are two of a string of projects over the past few years to ensure that veterans feel welcome at Tech, and to help those who are re-entering civilian life since major military actions have ceased in the Middle East.

Other university efforts include the establishment of an Office of Veterans Services, which helps students manage their G.I. Bill benefits, and a new system that allows academic colleges to give student veterans credit for military training courses.
