  1. Vets, warning, before you spend anywhere from $200 to $360 on a payallup tribal gaming permit, before your hired. Understand the complexity of working for a soveregn nation. You as a non-tribal member have to rights. You can be terminated at any time and have no recourse. Unlike another employer, you have rights protected by the EEOC. The Emerald Queen Casino has one of the worst hiring records in the state. Their turnover is one of the highest in the county. They are constantly wrongfully terminating employees on bogus unfounded accussations. Even senior managers and directors (non tribal). Over the past year they have lost dozens of unemployment hearings on senior managers, directors, and employees because the false accussations they use to justify the terminations are found to be made up and false. As a former senior manager who worked there and one of that group and veteran, I don’t want to see those who have served their country come back home and be ripped off and mistreated. You are better off working at a burger stand than this casino. Not all tribal casinos are this way, but you don’t have to believe me, the queen paid an outside consulting group to come in and tell them what is wrong and after they did, the payallup tribal counsel, EQC General Manager and HR Director did nothing to make the place better, even though several major items were brought up to include very low employee morale, employees working constant fear, and constant overt workplace discrimination and favoritism. It made national news in May 2009, the LaMaR Report. Google it.
