Camden County College officials cut the red, white and blue ribbon Thursday on a small room for veterans to quietly study on campus.
The Veterans Outpost Lounge — a private area in the Veterans Services Office with couches, coffee and a microwave — is a sanctuary in the Student Center for those who’ve served the country and are in a new phase of life, serving themselves by advancing their education.
“It’s emotional for me,” said college President Donald Borden, whose father was wounded in World War II and uncle died on the USS Juneau in the same war.
