New Service Designed To Help Veterans Adjust to Civilian Life

“A lot of guys, especially veterans, they’ve got that pride, where they don’t say ‘hey, I need a little help. I need a little guidance,'” Army veteran Sean Smith said.

Smith knows from experience how dificult transitioning to civilian life can be for veterans.

“Usually it’s housing, employment. There’s various things that different people need,” Smith said. “I talk to veterans on a daily basis about some of the obstacles they navigate when they do transition, and it’s not always seamless.”

That’s where a new service comes in, developed by the Veterans Outreach Center, unveiled at an event Wednesday.
