Grace Home, a new transitional housing facility for homeless veterans, hit some construction delays but organizers are planning to open in June.
The facility, at 2211 5th Ave. N., will house up to 10 homeless veterans and will be operated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of North Central Montana. City Commissioners approved the project in December.
A number of individuals and organizations have been assisting in construction and preparation of opening the home.
“Grace Home really is an act of love for a lot of different groups in the community,” said Deb Kottel, one of the project organizers. “It’s just incredible.”
Among the volunteers are a women’s group that is making quilts for the beds and art students from the University of Great Falls are painting a mural in the meditation room, Kottel said.
